A nice day, we are going to talk today about how we can make new technologies easier to use
"Digital Personal Assistant," or "digital personal partner," already knows a lot of people in the world. Also, many people in the world use the Apple home iPod, AI devices like Google home to get used to it. Also, Amazon's "Alexa" device has been used by many people.
Who really is Alexa?
Today, on our topic Alexa, Alexa is a virtual person called Amazon Eco smart speaker series created by Amazon from Amazon, as if it's like Siri in Apple. So, when we use Alexa as our Digital Personal Assistant, we can do a lot of work.
Eg: We can use our voice and turn on Tv, Lights, and turn off the power.
If Alexa we keep in hospital ...?
For example, sometimes we tell someone how to "remind me to drink if I can." Because we can forget that. But if we do not have one, we can remember it, or how can we remind it? That's where we need our Digital Personal Assistant's support. As a digital device, we can do a lot of work on Alexa.
Cedars-Sinai is a hospital in Los Angeles, USA. So, when the hospital is converted to a Smart Hospital, it has been planned to deploy an Amazon Eco Smart Hospital at a cost of a hundred. From that, they have provided a "Digital Personal Assistant", Alexa, to the patient in the hospital room to make the work easier for the patient. Also, we can improve the relationship between the patient and the doctors and nurses who are in the process.
Ex: If the patient needs to drink at least nine o'clock in the morning, the nurse in charge of the patient can keep a reminder on Alexa. Then the patient can take the necessary drugs for the nurse at the scheduled time.
If this system is introduced to Sri Lanka ...?
This can be seen as a very easy and beneficial way. So, if we try to find a way like this in our country, it can be very beneficial. Recall the time for the patient to take medication, provide meals, and the doctor can observe the patient, inform the patient in case of an emergency, and allow the patient to talk to Alexa regularly so that we can see the patient's psychological wellbeing.
We will see in another letter about the latest practices in modern technology.
